Madonna has been training exclusively with Tracy Anderson and the results were miraculous. Even Mrs Anderson says so…
But let’s talk about Tracy Anderson.
Mrs Anderson is a natural advocate of good looking bodies and a smart lady who turned her unique fitness method into a passionate international business. She is like a beacon in the philosophy of wellbeing. Tracy looks like a contemporary pocket Venus with sexy toned muscles, enormous energy which is like a rainbow coming out of her. Wild at heart fitness goddess shares that “healthy sex in better than any massage”. You can usually see her in sweats and cashmere sweaters over one-piece swimsuits and leggings. Really sexy in her own way.
Tracy’s life motto is taken from Tom Ford’s personal bible – “Don’t work with people you don’t wanna go to dinner”. Ford’s quote perfectly fits Tracy Anderson because, among her friends, clients and business partners are Jennifer Lopez, Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna, Lena Dunham, Drew Barrymore, Robert Downey Jr, to name a few.
Gwyneth Paltrow is her friend for a glass of wine and partner in business, too. Gwyneth described Tracy as a “pint-sized miracle”. There is this inside joke that every single character on Big Little Lies has taken part in Anderson’s class at one point, and ordered at least one piece from Paltrow’s site Goop.
They like hanging out, drinking champagne, sharing ideas of balancing everything… The best is that they don’t take themselves seriously as 24/7 fitness queens: “We’re not too healthy and not too unhealthy either.” Their friendship is more like a sisterhood. Sometimes Gwyneth cuts Tracy’s music during the exercise and switches to her own playlist: “ I can’t stand training her. She would listen to every remix of Justin’s Timberlake’s “LoveStoned”. She is fine just playing it over and over!”.
What is the magic behind Tracy’s fitness empire?
The best thing she ever did for herself was to stop listening to the trends. She started twenty years ago and was the first person in fitness to do a focused study on 150 women to see if she could create balance where there was an imbalance in the bodies. This experiment lasted five years. One of the questions she asked herself was: “If you can make your body freakishly large, why can’t you make your body freakishly proportional? No one was focusing on that.” The answer was “Yes, you can.”.
A few years ago, fitness superstar, Tracy realized a curious project with Microsoft to understand the neuroplasticity of the brain. Because how is it that, while playing a video game, you know when to jump or go left? You have to feel and choose the next steps by yourself. The same is applies to Tracy’s exercises. “This is based on 20 years of studying how to design bodies that are balanced. I create movements that create balance.”
Tracy is on different time zones because she has private training in London – she trains everyone from Stella McCartney to Victoria Beckham. Her daily routine is hard as stone. Every morning she teaches at 9 AM no matter where she is. During her workout, she always drinks electrolytes not just water. Anderson has one rule – never to raise her voice in the class. Her approach is zen: “If you are been yelled by your instructor, you can’t listen to yourself”.
Now Tracy is in peace with her body and mind.
She likes to wear pyjamas and watches “Girls” on repeat. Mrs Anderson is laughing that is so bored when someone is asking her: “What is your succession plan?”
