Emma Chamberlain- You Tube veteran
Growing up in 21st century means to watch a lot of videos and make them, too.
Emma Chamberlain did it as well and in 2017 changed the world of online video and created her online empire.
It is curious that her audience is more than 10 millions but it feels like sheâs sharing her life only with you.
âI remember when I first started making YouTube videos, I was kind of emulating the style of the time, which for girls my age was make-up and clothing-focussed, and very pristinely produced.
I loved consuming that content. But I had this epiphany where I was like, why am I doing this?
Thereâs no need to be emulating whatâs already there. So what do I need on YouTube?
What do I need to watch?
Emma followed her instinct and started to experiment with zooming, adding text and pausing.
Her âlaugh secretâ was to emphasize these things so people could notice the funny catchy moments.
From her teenage age she had a lot to share and people called her ânaturally talkerâ.
Isnât it perfect for a You Tube guru?
Nowadays Emma is almost 22 years old and have 12Â million followers, her videos have been viewed more than half billion times.
It sounds like a cliché but what is a secret of her success?
To stop enjoying going to high school?
Or to have father who understands you and says you:
“Ok. Find something outside of school that you are excited aboutâ.
Instead of adding a plenty of gloss in her videos like others do, she decided to reduce it at all.
Sometimes you could see that she didnât take the shower.
The New York Times described her with the following words:
âChamberlain invented the way people talk on YouTube now, particularly the way they communicate authenticity.â
âWhy do people just love you?â- asked Jimmy Fallon in his The Tonight Show
Emma Chamberlain is honest that she is not scared to share her real life.
âI donât care if telling a story about myself makes me look stupid, if it can help someone else feel understood in some way.
That is more important to me than feeling embarrassed.
Iâm not scared of sharing the parts of us that weâre scared of sharing.â
So that something is significant it doesnât matter it is ugly or nice, she prefers to show it at a high-emotional moment.
When she is sad, so you can see her crying and see her after these emotions in a mood âI donât care about it anymoreâ.
Her followers arenât her only treasure.
Brands as Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Alexander McQueen, Gentle Monster, Dr. Martens, Cartier asked her to be their ambassador and partner.
Once she travelled to Paris for the womenâs Louis Vuitton show, checked into her fancy hotel and accidentally shat herself while her friend was in the shower.
Like she usually said, sheâs not scared of sharing.
Nowadays Ema takes care about her online empire that includes her coffee company, her podcast âAnything Goesâ and partnership with the most popular brands on the planet.
What can we expect more from her?
